Vernon County driver goes into cornfield after collision with deer

A 22-year-old driver from Elroy, Wis., was hurt after a run in with a deer on a Vernon County road.

The man collided with the deer while driving late Sunday morning on County Road Z near Ontario. The animal rolled up onto the windshield and actually went through the glass.

Rogers lost control of the vehicle, going down an embankment, stopping in a cornfield.

He had minor injuries and did not go to a hospital.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
