Get ready for the heat

Published

on

It has been a crazy year for weather. A tropical storm hit California for the first time in 84 years. A hurricane whipped up winds in Hawaii that practically destroyed a whole town. The month of July was the hottest month ever on record across the globe. Arizona baked in 110 plus degree weather for more than a month. This week it looks like it is La Crosse’s turn. La Crosse, and the rest of our area, could set new record high temperatures this week as we prepare for temps that could hit 100 degrees in some places. Is this evidence of climate change? That is hard to say, although scientific experts say the worsening severe weather, from hurricanes to wildfires to record heat and rains is caused primarily by human-caused climate change. Of course, many refuse to believe that we are the problem, or even that climate change is real. Skeptics say the weather is always changing, and it can change again. But there are some clear trends that can’t be denied. Each of our last 9 Astronomical Springs have been warmer than normal. That sure seems to be a sign of global warming. Believe it, or not. Either way, brace yourself for triple digit temperatures for the next few days, and stay cool.

84 years, say it isn’t so….OMG, the historical impact of a storm. OMG, we have triple digit heat for the first time in 13 years, run, run, the earth is burning, the oceans are evaporating, the grass fires are erupting out of the dirt……

    Get a grip, it’s summer….

“Astrological Spring”? Kinda makes it appear someone is cherrypicking statistics.

By the way, I have a “heat rash” on my arm…never had one before. Must be climate change.

People can disagree on the cause of global warming, how much is artificial vs natural causes, go ahead and deny all you want, but the numbers don’t lie it is getting warmer on average throughout the world. You have to look beyond the high temperature in your backyard.
