City of La Crosse does quick fix at riverfront bandshell, after “movement” is discovered in the structure

The Riverside Park bandshell in La Crosse is getting some quick maintenance, prior to this week’s Moon Tunes concert on Thursday night.

A city news release says “natural movement” was discovered at the structure, during a routine inspection. Structural support work was being done on the wooden arch of whole trees that was built in 2019 above the existing bandstand.

Scaffolding was put up on Wednesday, to do some maintenance work. The project should be done in time for the regular Thursday Moon Tunes concert at the bandshell, which will have a later start of 6 p.m. because of continuing hot weather.
