La Crosse Fire Dept. quickly extinguishes fire at Econo Lodge
The La Crosse Fire Department quickly extinguished a fire Monday at the Econo Lodge.
The call came in around 5:30 p.m. The fire was coming from the middle entrance, under the wooden awning and contained to the exterior of the building.
No injuries were reported at the building on Rose Street. The fire was caused from a cigarette — or similar “smoking material” — that wasn’t disposed of properly.
It took 3 minutes for the fire department to get to the call. La Crosse Police and La Crosse County Emergency Management also were on the scene.
