Aquinas, West Salem boys and girls, Holmen girls headed to state cross county meet
A lot of returning team qualifiers to the WIAA state cross country meet coming this weekend.
For the sixth consecutive season, the Aquinas High School boys are headed to state — having won it from 2018-2020 — while the West Salem boys are headed there for the fourth consecutive time.
2023 State Boys & Girls Cross Country Championships
Saturday at Ridges Golf Course, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.
Boys — D3: Noon; D2: 12:35 p.m.; D1: 1:10 p.m.
Girls — D3: 1:45 p.m.; D2: 2:25 p.m.; D1: 3:05 p.m.
Holmen’s girls also punched their ticket for the second season in a row.
Also qualifying were the Aquinas and West Salem girls teams, as well as the Bangor boys.
Individually, in Division 1, three boys from Onalaska qualified (Manny Putz, 11, Blake Burnstad, 12, Alro White, 11).
In Division 2, Logan freshman Kareena Ramakrishnan on the girls side, and Arcadia senior Nestor Badillo, on the boys side, are headed to state.
And, in Division 3, on the girls side, Bangor junior Anna Fronk and Westby sophomore Elizabeth Curtis also qualified.
