Suspected drunk driving Onalaska crash kills male passenger, injures female driver and 2 children

A 25-year-old man is dead and a woman is facing a vehicular homicide charge after a weekend crash in Onalaska that also injured two young children.

Onalaska police said a vehicle went down an embankment on North Kinney Coulee Road, near Interstate-90 on Sunday night.

Joshua Hernandez was ejected from the vehicle during the accident and declared dead after life-saving measures were taken by emergency crews.

The reported driver, Savannah Myers, is suspected of being drunk. Myers and the couple’s 2- and 4-year-old children had to be freed from the vehicle by the Onalaska Fire Department.

One child airlifted to a Madison hospital.

Police charged Myers with homicide and injury by drunk driving, as well as a third-offense driving while intoxicated.

She’s also accused of OWI causing injury with passengers under age 16. Online records do not show any court appearances in the case yet.
