As I See It

Wisconsin remains outlier in not accepting federal Medicaid money

Not only do some lawmakers continue to call for the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, they also refuse to take advantage of the benefits the health care plan already provides. It is happening in Wisconsin, where state representatives continue to refuse to accept federal money to expand Medicaid coverage in the state. Wisconsin is becoming more and more of an outlier. North Carolina became the latest state to expand Medicaid coverage under the Affordable Care Act. That leaves just ten states, including Wisconsin, which have turned their backs on expanding the program and providing more quality care to families. As a result, 90,000 Wisconsinites are being denied medical coverage. Accepting the federal money would allow those people, many of them low-income, to be covered by medical insurance. That leads to a healthier community. This money is just sitting there, with Wisconsin’s name on it, but our elected officials won’t accept it. It is time to join North Carolina and the majority of states. Wisconsin lawmakers should vote to accept this federal money and provide quality health care to those who most need it.

The Unaffordable Care Act is not something Wisconsin should be getting into anytime soon. It is never a good idea to depend on others to live.

Depending on each other is literally the only way to live in a society. We are all in the same boat. There are no individual solutions to collective problems! Wisconsin is inly screwing itself by not expanding medicaid. So now, just like Republicans blocking high speed internet, the state has to pick up the bill! It’s truly moronic.

Rejected. Because in the long run the states will be stuck with the cost of the “free” insurance. Actually, its not free insurance or free medical coverage it is just paid for by your neighbor. There should be no problem helping those in truly in need but the rolls of those applying for medicare are largely working age, work avoiding, folks.

Republicans refused to even put in high speed internet where we live in Northern Wisconsin, thus denying our ability to work! They do the sand for by not ending prohibition in WI so we can invest heavily in the state and support ourselves. So people say &$@@ it and go on the dole and at least have healthcare, just like the do nothing Republicans who refuse to work abd do their jobs!
