Fake elector should not be on Wisconsin Elections Commission

Published

on

We hear over and over about the need for transparency in our electoral system, and the need that those involved in administering our elections be impartial. That is why the Wisconsin Elections Commission, which oversees elections in the state, is bipartisan, made up of an equal number of Democrats and Republicans. But one member of the commission stepped over the line when he served as a fake elector following the 2020 election. Robert Spindell and nine others signed their name attempting to certify that Donald Trump, not Joe Biden, won Wisconsin. Now a court settlement has been reached, with all ten fake electors admitting that Joe Biden did win Wisconsin, and that their actions as fake electors were designed to improperly overturn the results of the election. Yet Spindell still sits on the Election Commission, and his term does not expire until after next year’s presidential race. There are growing calls for Spindell to step down, or to be removed from office. Someone who tried to alter the results of a valid election should have no role administering future elections. Such behavior is nothing new for Spindell, who was criticized for praising Republican tactics in Milwaukee to suppress turnout from black and Hispanic voters. Clearly he has an agenda, and is willing to use his power to bend the rules. Spindell should go, for the good of our democracy.

Mr. Lepsch is ignoring reality. It was repeatedly proven that the election was not stolen. Time to get real.

Except it isn’t a fake elector. It was an alternate slate of electors that would have been registered in the event someone would have investigated Trumps fraud charges and then, proven fraud!

You can keep calling it fake, but it isn’t……

Your opinion though is fraudulent at worst, incomplete at best.

Don’t confuse them with important details; the word “fake” is the first word in the title and repeated often enough to be very poor composition in the article for a reason…”here is what we want you to believe today…”

Kevin got my same point in before me. How about this MSM – stop influencing uninformed voters to your agenda with twisted terms and phrases and just present the truth.

Still calling ’em Fake Electors I see. You unable admit your mistake, apologize, and correct the mistake? If you’re going to do so now, please make sure you stick to your guns the next time Democrats have Fake Electors.

Well everyone on here is making valid posts. Even us Democrat’s had controversy in the 2016 United States presidential election, ten members of the Electoral College voted or attempted to vote for a candidate different from the ones to whom they were pledged. Three of these votes were invalidated under the faithless elector laws of their respective states, and the elector either subsequently voted for the pledged candidate or was replaced by someone who did.

So this could be viewed as “FAKE ELECTORS” when in fact it was as stated above an alternate slate of electors that would have been registered.

Let’s all of us Democrats start trying to get along with the GOP and do something worth while for our city, county, and country.
