Drug charges result from La Crosse man’s arrest near park, Salvation Army
A La Crosse man is accused of possessing fentanyl within 1,000 feet of Burns Park, downtown.
Police were told that Donald Greeno had a large amount of drugs with him, inside a parked vehicle where officers found him sleeping on Wednesday, near the Salvation Army shelter on 8th Street.
A vehicle search turned up fentanyl and packages of other drugs.
The 65-year-old Greeno is a repeat offender with convictions for heroin and meth possession during the past three years.
He’s been taking part in county Drug Court after past cases.
La Crosse County Judge Mark Huesmann called Greeno’s continued violations “disturbing,” and set bond for at $2,500 cash.
Greeno’s next court hearing will be Jan. 24.
