La Crosse could get 9-15 inches of snow, 30-40 mph wind gusts, as driving conditions will be hazardous
Get ready for about 24 hours straight snow in the Coulee Region.
The National Weather Service – La Crosse predicts between 9-15 inches, along with gusty winds leading to drifting snow.
“It will NOT be a day for a joy ride — unless maybe you’re on a snowmobile,” the weather service posted.
The heaviest snow will come during the day Friday with an inch per hour at times.
“Snow consistency will be a little fluffier than what we had earlier this week,” the weather service said.
As for the winds, they could gust between 30-40 mph — initially northeast, then turning northwest — through Saturday morning
Near-whiteout conditions are possible in rural, open areas. Driving will become hazardous to dangerous, the weather service said.
