Prairie du Chien AT&T employee arrested for using customer debit card, which included paying off a ticket

A 31-year-old woman working at AT&T was arrested last week for allegedly using a customer’s debit card without permission to pay off debt, including a ticket, while making other purchases, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.

The sheriff’s office statement said a “report of financial fraud” was received at 11 a.m. Jan. 5 at AT&T in PdC.

After an investigation, the sheriff’s office statement said the Bagley, Wis., woman had paid off a citation in Grant County, as well as making other purchases and paying off debt with a customer’s debit card without permission.

The woman was arrested on a charge of “Financial Transaction Card Crimes.”
