Bond won’t be changed for suspect in La Crosse attacks on police squad cars
The cash bond of $100,000 will not be reduced for a 30-year-old La Crosse man accused of a series of attacks on local police cars.
Shawn Keller argued Thursday that he can’t afford to post bond, and wants to be released from jail.
Keller was arrested last week, after allegedly firing off a firework or flare that reportedly exploded and damaged a police car. He’s also suspected of throwing ice and a brass ring at other squad cars in recent incidents.
La Crosse County Judge Mark Huesmann turned down a request to change Keller’s bond, saying the flare gun incident could have posed a deadly threat to officers.
