Want to fix immigration? Pass the Border Bill
The problem of illegal immigration is certainly nothing new. Our lawmakers have been trying for decades and many presidential administrations to stop the flow of illegal aliens into our country. Now, a chance to finally do something about it appears to be slipping through their fingers. Three Senators, one Republican, one Democrat and one Independent are pushing a bill to crack down on border security. It certainly isn’t perfect, and both parties admit it contains language they don’t like. But it seems better than the policy in place now, which appears to be no policy. This bill would end the catch and release policy at the border. It would significantly reduce the number of people coming into the country illegally and would shorten the time for those seeking asylum to be processed. It would allow the border to be shut down if the number of border crossers becomes too much to handle. It also provides needed money for both Ukraine and Israel. But it appears this bill is DOA. Ironically, it is Republicans who won’t advance the legislation, even though the bill contains many provisions on sealing the border they have been fighting for. This may be the nation’s best hope for establishing an immigration policy anytime soon, but it appears that because of politics, this too will slip through their fingers.

If you read the bill you will see noting changes to control it no wonder democrats rely on the stupidity of their supporters.

It’s obvious that you’re speaking from Democrat talking points and have done no research into what the bill really says. The truth of the matter is that this bill would actually weaken current law. The President said “Give me the power”. He had the power and revoked it through executive order. He can restore it the same way. This bill, like most, is simply slight of hand, to deceive us and get more money away from us. Wake up and smell the dung heap!

Got nuthin – what can you say to a stupid opinion piece like this? Pass a bill that allows breaking the law, but just not to badly! Pass a bill that provides for the same power that the president currently has? Pass a bill that does what, destroy the sovereignty of the nation and can more?
We deserve what we get, servitude! They ought to call this the ‘pissin it all away’ bill!

As a compassionate Democrat, the southern border is making me concerned. There is nothing required as far a a BILL to take care of the border. Enforce the current laws.
Please look up Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act that provides the President with sweeping power to suspend the entry of or place restrictions on the entry of immigrants and nonimmigrants for whatever period he or she deems necessary, provided that the President determines that such entry would be detrimental to U.S. interests.
The the president HAS the authority to “suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”
Let’s get real data and information presented here vs an editorial agenda. We do NOT need to have any spending bills to close the border. The mass overrun of illegal entry into our country crossing the border are overwhelming our hospitals, schools, police, fire, social workers and other infrastructure.
By President Biden falsely claiming he needs funding is just another means of passing a bill that has PORK in it. Bills should be single-issue bills in order to not confound or conflate issues and hide spending.
Please confirm Section 212(f) allows the President to stop the flow without any passing of a new bill.
(as a side note: the same rhetoric of passing a new law is used when an individual is shot by another person. We say we need new gun laws! Is is already a crime to shoot someone, it is already a crime for a felon to possess and own a firearm, abusers under final domestic violence restraining orders, or convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence crime are not allowed to own a firearm. So lets get back to the basics of enforcing our current laws)

It is mazing that Biden does not use his usual approach and issue an executive order or use the army or the national guard to stop the flow.
We know the left is running the country and that stops him from doing his job. He does not have the intestinal fortitude to do what is right for America.
He is causing economic ruin in democratic strongholds- metropolitan areas. Of course, the vast majority of the voters in those areas have the mistaken belief that the Democratic Party cares about them. We are now witnessing Chinese streaming into our country. Are they coming from China? How many have nefarious intentions?
The media of course is silent about that and many other issues that they should be issuing reports to the American public.
The world is becoming an increasing dangerous place and we are worried about transgender rights, abortion up and including labor, pronouns and I could go on and on.
Biden should start doing his job for all America and the media should start reporting fairly; THERE IS HELL FREEZING UP AGAIN.
