La Crosse Airport hijacking suspect could reach plea agreement
The 31-year-old Idaho man accused of ramming his car through a gate at the La Crosse Airport last year may enter a negotiated plea in early April.
Cody Anderson will have a plea hearing on April 1.
Anderson appeared in La Crosse County circuit court with his attorney Wednesday.
He was arrested on Nov. 11, after driving through an airport fence, getting onto a private plane and, allegedly, making threats to hijack the aircraft.
If Anderson is convicted, or enters an insanity plea, he may be eligible for treatment at the Mendota state hospital.
Anderson faces charges including theft, resisting police and making terroristic threats. He remains in the county jail under a $500,000 cash bond.
