Repeated sexual assault of a child suspect makes La Crosse court appearance, after similar charge 11 years ago

A cash bond of $25,000 has been set for a 30-year-old La Crosse man in a sexual assault case involving an underage victim.

Cody Tanke is charged with repeated sexual assault of the same child.

Police found Tanke with several guns, in violation of an order not to possess weapons.

Tanke has a previous felony conviction from 11 years ago on the same charge. In that case, he was given probation and a jail sentence.

La Crosse County Circuit Judge Ramona Gonzalez set the cash bond for Tanke on Thursday, and scheduled him to return to court Friday.

A new criminal complaint is expected to be filed then.
