An 18-year-old fell asleep at the wheel, crossed the centerline and his SUV collided with a fullsize pickup driven by a 75-year-old, according to the Vernon County Sheriff.
The collision sent both vehicles off the road — the GMC pickup ending up on its roof and the Ford Explorer in the ditch.
The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. Sunday, the Vernon County Sheriff’s office report to media stated.
That’s when the 18-year-old from Viroqua, crossed Highway 27 north of Westby in his Explorer and collided with the Cashton man’s GMC.
Both drivers declined medical transport but did indicate they would seek medical treatment on their own.
