Drop boxes are more secure than mailboxes

Published

on

For the past two years, voters in Wisconsin who chose to cast their ballots absentee have had to put their ballots in the mailbox rather than a drop box. That could change soon. The Wisconsin Supreme Court appears to be fast-tracking a lawsuit seeking to have the current ban on drop boxes overturned. It appears likely, given the current liberal majority on the court, that the ban will be overturned, perhaps in time for the next presidential election. I’ve never understood the current ban, still wondering how putting my ballot in a drop box was threatening the integrity of our elections. The drop boxes, like the one that used to be in the La Crosse City Hall parking lot, was under video surveillance, and located next to the police station. When the drop box was emptied, the ballots just had to be taken up a couple floors of City Hall. When we put our ballots in the mailbox instead, they go from La Crosse to St. Paul, and then back to La Crosse. Mailing them seems to pose more possible problems. It is hard to see how putting them in a mailbox is in any way more secure. And as far as I know, there were zero incidents of people trying to somehow manipulate ballots or tamper with the drop box when it sat in the City Hall parking lot. It accepted both Republican and Democrat ballots.  It is time to restore some sanity to our election process, and return the safe and secure drop boxes.

If you have the heart to see what can happen, see the move “2000 Mules”. You’ll see how ballots can be illegally harvested and put in a drop box that is not adequately monitored. The real question should be , why the push for more drop boxes? How is a drop box more convenient than a mail box? The answer is ,it is not. But if there is fraud conducted thru the mail it becomes a federal offense. That is the real reason to push for drop boxes!

Another question – why make the election more contestable? You know half of the electorate is highly skeptical, the other half is equally highly skeptical. No matter who wins, you have half of the electorate screaming about a poorly run, corrupt election.

Do the right thing, go vote in person, unless you absolutely cannot. Show an ID…..

Curious how the phone data in 2000 mules was discounted, yet hundred of folks are in jail/prison for 6Jan based on phone data.

There are discontinuties everywhere involving the 2020 election, and here is our vaunted news director promoting more opportunity for fraud.

It’s as if everyone’s brain fell out of their backside…..

Drop boxes are more secure than mailboxes.

And much easier to “Stuff”. Security of everyone’s vote is paramount; therefore, voters should make the effort to have their vote secure and do their own due-diligence to secure their vote. Vote in person at your polling place (with your photo I.D. and signature verification) unless you have a LEGITIMATE reason for going thru the process for voting absentee.

Here’s another idea: get rid of same day Registration and only print up the number of ballots that equal the number of Registered voters plus 1% (to have available to replace spoiled ballots as needed).

Elected officials should create this voting process and judges should not legislate.

Or does this scare you? Why?

No evidence presented for the assertion that drop boxes are more secure than a PO box. There is no way to determine who filled out the ballot. What person collects the drop box ballots after polls close? How are drop boxes all collected at the same time at the time the polls are to close? Who decides where drop boxes are located?

For most people, voting in person is actually easier than the red tape to request, complete and drop off a ballot. Dems are for drop boxes because they can be manipulated outside the brick and mortar system to their advantage.

When I vote in person, I present an I.D. before I can vote; that safeguard is not in place with drop boxes.

Today’s column is willful propaganda and WIZM should be embarrassed.
