The driver who crashed through a fence at the La Crosse airport last fall and threatened to hijack a small plane is found not guilty by reason of mental illness.

Cody Anderson has reached a plea agreement in La Crosse County court, on a charge of intending to steal a plane. Other charges, including making terroristic threats, have been dismissed as part of the negotiated plea.

The Idaho man will be evaluated before his next hearing on May 10th. At an earlier hearing, Anderson had been found competent to go on trial.

The incident at the airport happened last November. Police say Anderson rammed his car through a fence at the airport, before getting onto a private plane and making threats. Anderson could be committed to a hospital at that May hearing.
