Not a lot of changeover in the La Crosse County Board, upon the conclusion of the spring election cycle.

There will be eight new faces on the board — Kelly Leibold (District 1), Em Andeson (5), Grant Mathu (6), Dave Balduzzi (21), Joe Kovacevich (22), Travis Elam (23), Paul Wuensch (27) and Ron Rothering (28), though two of those have been on the board before (Mathu, Kovacevich).

There were 17 incumbents in contested races and just two of those lost — Pam Viner and Dan Hesse.

Heading into the election, of the 30 board seats, 20 of those were contested races with 50 total candidates. And, of the 10 uncontested seats, eight of those were incumbents. Five current supervisors had declared they would not run.

Though this is a nonpartisan race, both political parties were involved.

The La Crosse County Republican Party posted 24 recommendations in the board race with 12 of those candidates winning — five of those unopposed.

The La Crosse County Democratic Party endorsed 13 candidates in the race and also saw 11 win — one being unopposed.
