A high number of vehicle entries in the last two weeks has led to a La Crosse police investigation.

Twenty-two incidents have been reported since April 5th, mostly downtown and north of Jackson Street, and several have occurred near West Avenue. The vehicles entered were generally unlocked, and the entries have mostly occurred during overnight hours.

Police are urging car owners to take valuables out of the vehicles, and make sure they are locked at night. They also ask residents to call the police department if they hear car alarms or breaking glass, or if they have security camera video which could help locate the suspected thieves.
