La Crosse named one of Top 50 best places to live
A mix of homegrown brew, outdoor recreation and a healthy economy, where people can afford to live, helped La Crosse get named one of the Top 50 best places to live.
The placement comes from Money magazine. The cities were not ranked in any particular order by Money, but La Crosse also fell under the “best kept secrets” category with 10 other towns.
The article describes La Crosse as “a picturesque slice of Midwest Americana with a healthy job market, thriving arts scene and some of the best freshwater fishing in the country.”
Outdoor recreation, craft beverage options like Pearl Street and Turtle Stack and 608 Brewery, plus the arts, highlighted by the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra, were all singled out in the Money mag article.
It also pointed out how the city puts the rest of the country to shame with its median home listing price of $265,000.
The Top 50 best places to live criteria included a thriving economy-meets-affordability, along with diversity and quality of life.
