A court hearing scheduled this week could help determine whether a trial in a Winona County murder case could be moved to another location.

The hearing on a change of venue for suspect Adam Fravel is set for Tuesday morning before a Winona judge. Fravel is accused of killing his former girlfriend, Madeline Kingsbury, early last year.

Kingsbury, the mother of Fravel’s two children, disappeared at the end of March 2023, leading to community searches and public vigils. Her remains were found in another county last June, and Fravel was arrested at that time.

He’s scheduled to be tried for first-degree murder this fall.
