The location of a Winona area murder trial could be determined by a judge in June.

Following a Winona court hearing for Adam Fravel on Tuesday, Judge Nancy Buytendorp has scheduled another hearing on June 10.

Fravel

Fravel was arrested last summer when the body of his former girlfriend, Madeline Kingsbury, was discovered near Mabel, Minnesota, several weeks after she was reported missing.

Fravel’s legal team wants the trial moved out of Winona County because of massive publicity surrounding Kingsbury’s disappearance and death.

The trial is tentatively scheduled for October or November.

Kingsbury lived in the Winona area and disappeared in March of 2023.

Searches went on for more than two months before her remains were discovered last June. Fravel was arrested within hours of that discovery.
