Tina Tryggestad is the new La Crosse County Board chair.

She’s headed into her fifth term on the board, representing the District 13, which is the south side of the city of La Crosse.

With guest host Rick Solem on WIZM’s La Crosse Talk, the two talk about the divisiveness that encapsulated the last election and relieving that contention, plus the upcoming “strategic plan” being put together by a consultant and some of the board’s priorities as it’s committee week.

La Crosse Talk airs weekdays at 6-9 a.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska). Find all the podcasts here or subscribe to La Crosse Talk PM wherever you get your podcasts.

Didn’t I hear, on this same morning radio show several weeks back, District 25 Board member Jacobsen telling how avid Democrats on the Board, including Tryggestad, were out in the boondocks trying to get nomination signatures for someone to run against Jacobsen. I wonder why guest host Solem didn’t think to ask the new Board Chair about that as Tryggestad was discussing all this unity she wants going forward, solving what she calls “divisiveness.” I would call quietly sticking your nose in the election of a fellow Board member “divisive”.

…lost count how many times she used the word “progressive.”

    Solem: “yep, yep, yep”
