Gow decision drags on
It has been five months since former UW La Crosse Chancellor Joe Gow was stripped of his duties. Gow was removed as Chancellor in December when it was discovered he and his wife had been making pornographic videos and posting them online. While Gow is no longer Chancellor, he continues to get paid by the UW System. Gow lost his job as university boss, but remains on the payroll as a professor of communications. He may have lost his $250,000 a year job as Chancellor, but he continues to draw a salary of $90,000. That money is coming out of our pockets. But while Gow is drawing a salary, he isn’t doing anything to earn it. He is currently barred from teaching at UWL. In fact, he is prohibited from even stepping foot on campus as part of his punishment. Finally, UWL administrators have scheduled a hearing to determine whether Gow can continue to hold his teaching position. Meanwhile, Gow and his wife continue to produce and post porn. He hasn’t exactly been repentant. The sexy, happy couple’s Loyal Fans page offers 20 videos for download, some posted less than a month ago. It is good that the UWL Senate will finally decide Gow’s fate, and whether we should continue to have to pay him, but it shouldn’t take five months for it to happen.

Gow should have been fired indefinitely. The liberals that run our school are not that smart If it was me or you at our we would be out the door. The porno creep needs to be gone without pay,

Gow should of been fired and escorted off campus by campus police , THATS what Gow did to me in 2012 as a custodial supervisor for a parking infraction for parking in a visitor parking spot on third shift I saw Gow leaving his office many times in the wee hours of the morning with female students. Kinda makes ya wonder what was going on there ??????? Bye Bye Joe GOW , KARMA IS A BITCH !!!!!!!

Well I guess now it’s all about Joe.
I have no problem with Joe Gow making movies, that’s his choice. But, you can’t have it both ways.
Just like doctors, nurses, firefighters and police officers, as an employee of UWL you are held to a higher standard. Lot’s of good looking young students on campus and you are participating in making movies which some people in society may deem not in the best interest in developing young impressionable minds.
Why has it has taken so long for the board of regents to make a decision concerning his teaching status is beyond belief. Don’t employees of the UWL system sigh some type of moral clause when they are hired?
Committing crimes, multiple DUI’s, lewd behavior, conduct unbecoming a faculty member? There has to be something in their contract that covers this type of behavior.
COME ON UWL, grow a pair and give old Joe his walking papers.

If he gets to stay as a faculty member that sets precedent for other new faculty hiring. Porn is now allowed. That’s not good for education.
Gow could’ve made as many videos as he wanted and simply kept his sex life private. He didn’t. He decided there was injustice that he couldn’t draw his 250k salary as Chancellor while publicly trying to live out the fantasy that enough people find him and his wife attractive to change careers. Turns out that wasn’t a great call.
Gow made his choice, let him live with it. He tried to get free publicity. He tried to make a name for himself and didn’t care about others. He ignored the negative impact and how his behavior as leader would hurt the academic institution of UWL, and of La Crosse. We made the news! Great!! People don’t want him here. Please just leave and let UWL move on with the new Chancellor.
Are 19-21 year olds really supposed to go up and ask him for help after class? Females will feel dirty just from his gaze. He will connect with the pervs but the truth is students should not be left alone with him. He cannot be taken seriously.
He does not deserve the title of Professor. He threw that away and needs to go away. Move out to the Hollywood hills and chase his dream. How many subscribers will they have in 12 months?
When they run out of porn stars to interview and it’s just him and his wife, they’ll get to see what it’s like to live on janitors wages. Get used to the taste of a real working class person. Except the truth is janitors earn their money. Gow just took off his clothes.
Unfortunately, because of the epidemic of how porn has affected both men, women, kids who now have unfettered access and think that porn is healthy, Gow will probably have a job waiting for him in the industry. Even after he ultimately finds out people don’t want to see him on the screen. After his narcissistic dream collapses, he will just be another dirty old guy watching others do the deed and making his money in administration. Good riddance for La Crosse.
Can him now and get it over with. If hes currently being paid 90k salary since, that means $7500 monthly for Jan-May. That’s $37,500 we’ve paid him. For what? What has he done to earn a cent of that? If this drags on through summer that will be $60,000. Fire him ASAP and give that money to someone who deserves it and who will earn it!
