As I See It

Today’s college protests different, illegal

Protests on college campuses are nothing new. They are popping up again on campuses across the country, including Wisconsin. The latest protests are pressuring universities over Israel’s war with Hamas, and most of the protesters are siding with Hamas, calling Israel’s response to the Hamas attack “genocide.” They want universities to condemn Israel’s behavior, and to divest any investments they have in Israel. But unlike the protesters against the Vietnam War who carried signs marching through campus, these protesters are camping out on university property, sometime for weeks at a time. That happened for a brief time at UW-Madison, and at UW-Milwaukee, where the administration is not tearing down the campus encampment, but encouraging them. The UW-Milwaukee chancellor joined the protester’s chorus when he called Israel’s war in Gaza a genocide. He has refused to meet with Jewish students on campus and has called for a ceasefire. He also is not going to punish those who camped out, despite it being a violation of state law. Protesters should be able to chant and march on our campuses, but universities should draw the line when they set up illegal encampments on government property to spread their message.

The young minds full of mush need to try to learn something in college. There parents are paying a lot of money. Maybe we need a little Kent state justice.

Soros, the billionaire, is financing much of this unrest. He’s also active in the marijuana legalization efforts, woke movements, and other left-wing causes. He’s an active contributor to Democratic party candidates. Democrats avoid public association with Soros but they eagerly take his money. Soros’ aim is the demise of the USA as we know it.

If this were right wing protests, they would be in jail.
I thought mid- western schools were different than the coast but apparently not.
They call this genocide when Hamas was s using them for human shields.
Very sad that the label genocide is being used when these people through out the country think killing babies for no reason other than inconvenience is not genocide

Rumpelstiltskin is alive and well! Where have you been sleeping? This campus situation has been in the making for decades. Every over-educated progressive able to memorize and recite progressive dogma has been gifted a PhD in Education (they like to call themselves “doctors” haha) and recruited into the grift called Public Education and publicly subsidized education (includes most private schools) and includes control of K-12.

The damage is likely irreversible. You are getting what you bought, paid for, promoted and what you deserve. So sorry.

I agree with Walden. This has been in the making for decades. These universities and colleges have been radicalized by left wing rot. Free speech in this country is a joke; free speech on the left is glorified but speak out against them and they declare war on you.
The country is suffering and will continue to suffer since this rot that has permeated for so long is almost impossible to reverse. You have a race baiting president running for reelection.
there is a substantial African American middle class but you would never know it especially after listening to the rot lying Joe said at a commencement address at Morehead College
