La Crosse man’s homicide trial to be postponed

A La Crosse man, arrested two years ago, for allegedly providing drugs that killed a female neighbor, will wait awhile longer before going on trial.

Bernard Moore, Jr., had a September trial scheduled in his reckless homicide case in La Crosse County, but defense attorney Candice Tlustosch has been allowed to withdraw from that case.

Moore has also withdrawn his demand for a speedy trial, so the case will be rescheduled when he finds another attorney.

The victim died in 2021 after taking fentanyl and meth reportedly supplied by Moore, who was arrested months later. Moore dismissed another attorney shortly after being charged, claiming they were not helping him, and a new hearing is expected in a few weeks.

Moore is now serving a prison term at New Lisbon for a different drug offense.
