Microgrid for downtown electricity in La Crosse could be funded by state grant

Published

on

A new idea for supplying electricity to La Crosse government offices and one local college is being developed.

The La Crosse County Board is being asked to accept a state award of $100,000 for energy innovation. The money would pay for a study of organizing a microgrid in downtown La Crosse.

The independent energy project is intended to provide electricity to La Crosse City Hall, county buildings and Western Technical College — all located close to each other on the north end of downtown.

The County Board is scheduled to discuss the grant and take a vote on it at the regular monthly board meeting Thursday.

    $100,000 for a study.

    .gov at work.

WIZM please report back when you know what hands the $100,000 grift passes through on its way to a 10 page report (including illustrations) that any unfortunate victim of a public education could produce, being sure to include key words like Diversity, Inclusion, Sustainable, Resilience, Climate Change and Democracy as many times as possible and with the conclusion that more studies are necessary.

If it requires a grant to be accomplished, it’s probably not worth doing. A free market is the most effective Way to innovate. It’s not effective to create grants by utilizing taxpayer money, transferring it to the government, and then having the government transfer it to a boondoggle. If it’s not taken from taxpayers first, it’s printed, which simply causes inflation. Inflation is another word for tax. this is another ridiculous, government inspired idea. And it will cost more than it saves, if there are any savings at all.
