A Sparta, Wis., man was sentenced Wednesday to 33 years in prison for the beating death two years ago of a 32-year-old woman.
Shawn Hock was sentenced in Monroe County court, after pleading guilty in March to reckless homicide.
The 34-year-old Hock was charged with seven criminal counts related to the death of Sara Latimer at a house in Sparta, including aggravated battery and delivering meth.
Police had investigated previous reports of domestic abuse involving Hock and Latimer.
Under the sentence, Hock would be placed on extended supervision for 20 years after his prison term has been served.
