Millions of people viewed the presidential debate Thursday night, and many of them gathered together at public places to hear from the two most recent U.S. presidents.

At the Rivoli Theater, La Crosse area Democrats cheered for current president Joe Biden, and a few people booed Republican Donald Trump.

The La Crosse County Democratic Party hosted the downtown gathering with Wisconsin Assembly Rep. Steve Doyle (D-Onalaska) among the party members speaking before the main event, claiming that people don’t really remember Trump’s record in office.

Commenting on Trump’s continued popularity, even after being voted out in 2020, Doyle said voters “got rid of (Trump) and suddenly people developed amnesia. They forget what it was like, and they forget that for almost four years now, we’ve had a complete turnaround (under Biden).”

Assembly Rep. Jill Billings (D-La Crosse) talked about the issues at stake in the fall election.

Billings also thinks that even though both candidates were born roughly 80 years ago, that shouldn’t be much of a factor in the race.

Billings did argue that “President Biden is moving us forward, he wants to move the country forward, and President Trump, former president, wants to move us backwards,” she said.

Billings also criticized Trump for favoring a ban on abortion and for planning more tax breaks for the wealthy.

Guests ordered drinks and munched on pizza and popcorn while watching the debate at the Rivoli’s lounge.

The Democrats got to watch a comedy. Joe really smelled bad. Hopefully they don’t go jump off the Mississippi bridge or they are democrats they will take the easy way out and use the west channel bridge.

Hilarious photo. Steve Doyle looks to be in shock from either the poor debate performance by Biden or a hypoglycemic episode from eating too much pizza.

Meanwhile, Jill Billings has her nose turned up and is looking for the door. She gets it.

The debate proves what I have stated in the past. Both of these habitual liars should not be anywhere near the White House next year.
Any Democrat who states Biden is moving us forward is delusional and should resign from office. The world is getting more dangerous by the day and these two bozos have no clue what to do.
Trump’s conviction could very well be overturned on appeal.
Here are two very sad facts. The first is that the media no matter who is elected will remain totally biased for the democratic party and remain the BIGGEST THREAT TO DEMOCRACY.
Should Biden win and not finish the term, we have Kamala ( where is the border) running the country. She will put the final nails in the coffin and bury democracy for good

So Pfaff says that Biden policies have turned the country around, i am not sure what ‘around’ is, the country is deeper in debt than ever, it is spending way above it’s means, housing costs are ballooning, energy costs increasing, real purchasing power of our wages has shrunk, grocery carts have shrunk, more wars, more rumors of wars, more division in the country, blah blah blah

Jill Billings claiming Trump wants a national ban on abortion, i would have thought she knew how to tell the truth. This is a blatant lie at worst and political misinformation or out right stupidity at best.

Neither one of these two deserve our votes either…..
