The Steam won the first 4-0, behind a seven-inning shutout from pitcher Mackenzie Willis, who struck out seven and allowed two hits and two walks.

In the second inning, teammate Avary Makarewicz put the Steam on the board with her second home run of the season — a solo shot.

In the nightcap, the Steam lost 14-0.

La Crosse (3-10) plays again Tuesday at Madison, before heading back to Copeland to host Minot on Friday night.
