Charges from 12 years ago has La Crosse woman in court

A 36-year-old La Crosse woman is facing criminal charges in Iowa that date back more than a decade, even though she denies having ever been in the state.

Jennifer Gudgeon appeared before a La Crosse County judge this week, on a charge of being a fugitive.

An arrest warrant for Gudgeon was issued in Dallas County, Iowa in 2012, when she failed to appear there on charges of drug possession and theft.

Gudgeon said in court that she has never been to Iowa.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
