Juveniles face charges of entering vehicles and fleeing police; La Crosse officers arrest one suspect

Area police suspect three juveniles of vehicle break-ins in Viola, and one car theft in La Crosse in the last couple of days.

Sheriff’s officers in Richland County say the young suspects stole a vehicle and drove to Viola, where they broke into several cars and stole a variety of items. On Wednesday morning, the stolen car was pursued by police into Vernon County, where it became disabled and the driver reportedly ran away. Two other suspects in the burglaries were not in the vehicle, and they were captured in Viola.

Police in La Crosse arrested a juvenile who had been sought in Vernon County, and who may have been armed. The suspect was wet when taken into custody, possibly as a result of running through a marsh area.

A handgun was found in the town of Liberty, shortly before that juvenile’s arrest. Apparently, no one was injured.
