La Crosse man sent to federal lockup for fentanyl deals
A case of fentanyl distribution leads to federal prison time for Timothy Cannon of La Crosse.
The 36-year-old Cannon is ordered to serve 6 years behind bars on federal charges, resulting from repeated drug sales to a police informant. During each deal, Cannon reportedly sold at least 40 grams of fentanyl to that informant. The sales occurred early last year in La Crosse.
Cannon pled guilty in March to the federal charge of distributing fentanyl. A search of Cannon’s apartment turned up more than 40 grams of fentanyl in his backpack.
In a La Crosse County case, Cannon has pled “no contest” to bail jumping, in a domestic abuse case where he reportedly tried to choke a woman during an argument.
For that offense, Cannon had been in jail about nine months since his arrest. He was sentenced to time served.
