Leading Wisconsin Assembly Democrat announces door-to-door campaigns, hoping to give her party a majority in Madison
A Democratic leader in the Wisconsin legislature is hopeful that her party can take the majority in the Assembly during the fall election.
Assembly minority leader Greta Neubauer says gerrymandered legislative maps dating back more than a decade have given Republicans an unfair advantage in Madison. However, Neubauer says recent changes in those maps could help put her party in charge.
“This year, we have the opportunity to go on offense,” Neubauer told reporters during an national on-line news conference, also featuring Democratic lawmakers from New Hampshire and Arizona. “Thanks to years of hard work by many people across the state, we have new competitive, fair legislative maps, and a real shot at taking the majority in the Assembly this fall.”
Neubauer is promising that Democrats will knock on doors all over the state this campaign season, to personally talk with voters about important issues. She says voters respond well to hearing about the programs her party has been working on.
“I find that the conversations go really well, when I can talk about the specific investments that Sen. Tammy Baldwin has brought to our community, that President Joe Biden has brought to our community, which include a community health clinic, electric buses, violence prevention grants, new housing for lower-income people in our community,” said Neubauer. She described Wisconsin as a “democracy desert” over the last 12 years, because of many legislative district maps which her party says were drawn to give Republicans a majority in the Assembly.

She can tell everyone how the Democratic Party and the media conspired to hide our lying, incompetent President’s decline from us.
Lying Joe and the party and the press do not care about America at all.
They took a choice for a candidate away from us. DESPICABLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The thought that Trump may benefit from this late revelation is nauseating to me.
