US House Rep. Derrick Van Orden stated Tuesday that he was assaulted while waiting in line for an event at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

Van Orden called it an “incident of political violence,” on Twitter, and said it was witnessed by a nearby police officer.

Milwaukee police told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that a 24-year-old woman “battered the victim” and was taken into custody. “The victim,” police said, referring to Van Orden, “sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention on scene.”

What sort of injuries were unclear, according to the Milwaukee Journal, which also reported that the group the woman was a member of, Code Pink, denied an assault took place and that Van Orden “tried to shove past” the woman.

Van Orden, continued in his statement, “There is no place for political violence in this country and I have repeatedly called for people who choose this path to be prosecuted to the greatest extent of the law.”

The Journal Sentinel also noted it was not clear if charges had been filed and it is still under investigation.

This article is written as though the author questions whether the incident actually happened.

The women was arrested according to police.

WIZM is nothing but a parody of actual journalism. Clown show.
