William Garcia is the Democratic Party chair for La Crosse County and the 3rd US House District in Wisconsin in the WIZM studio for La Crosse Talk on July 22, 2024.

Wisconsin’s 3rd US House District seems to be a pretty good indication of who will be the Democratic nominee for president.

William Garcia is one of 95 Democratic delegates in Wisconsin and one of six in the 3rd Congressional District. He is also the La Crosse County and 3rd CD Democratic Party chair.

Garcia spilled the beans Monday morning on WIZM’s La Crosse Talk who they’re supporting.

The 3rd CD Democrats have all endorsed Kamala Harris,” Garcia said, adding, “So, the six people, I’m one of them, have already publicly announced that we will be supporting Kamala Harris at the convention.”

Garcia admitted he was disappointed President Joe Biden dropped out of the race. But now says since they’re no longer the party with the old guy running for president, the campaign completely changes.

“Now that that’s gone,” Garcia said, “we get to focus a lot more on policies. And when you focus on the policies the last four years, we blow Republicans out of the water.”

An AP survey early Tuesday morning of delegates across the country indicates that Harris has enough support to be the nominee for Democrats.
