Schnitzler has been the Monroe County Board chair the past eight years and part of the board, on and off, since 1996. Schnitzler discusses how there’s a need for the state to help communities with expanding broadband, how there should be a difference in funding capital and operating expenses in public schools, and where the state’s $3.5 billion budget surplus fits into the mix. 

Schnitzler is running against Democratic incumbent Jill Billings in the fall election.
