With Libertarian candidate Wisconsin gets even purplier

Just a couple short weeks ago, Wisconsin voters were lamenting their choices for President of the United States. Poll after poll showed voter dissatisfaction with both Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Suddenly, voters have another choice in Kamala Harris, now at the top of the democratic ticket. And it appears voters in Wisconsin will have yet another choice when they head to the polls to select a new President in November. The Libertarian Party says it has ensured ballot access for its candidate, Chase Oliver. The Libertarian Party chapter in Wisconsin has now filed the proper paperwork with the Wisconsin Elections Commission to get Oliver on the Wisconsin ballot. I generally support third-party efforts, and find some of the Libertarian Party appealing. I have always thought voters should have more choices at the ballot box. The Libertarian Party is the third-largest political party in the U.S. and received the third most votes in the last three presidential elections. But a vote for Oliver is a vote against either Trump or Biden, with little hope of their candidate winning. Wisconsin is already a purple state, split nearly evenly on presidential preference. With the Libertarian Party candidate now on the ballot, Wisconsin is likely to get even purplier.

Voting for someone other than Trump or Harris is away to say that you are not happy with the lack of choice being offered to you. You should never vote for someone you dislike and not voting is way to just get ignored. If you want change, vote you conscience and let the chips fall where they may.

Well said June Genis. if against Trump or Harris is vote against Democrat and Republican rule. It says enough runaway spending. Enough government programs. Enough of high taxes. Etc. Americans these days are used to choosing the lesser of two evils. That’s a heck of way too vote in a democratic Republic. That is, trying to choose the candidate that will do the least harm, Holding your nose, and pulling the lever so to speak.
