Two charged with death resulting from child neglect in La Crosse County
Two adults in La Crosse County have now been formally charged with child neglect, in the death of an infant nearly a year ago.
Lavon Liggins and Brittany Basley were arrested Thursday, and made their first court appearances in the case before a La Crosse judge Friday.
The two were the parents of a 1-year-old boy, who died unexpectedly in September of 2023.
Police have been investigating whether the baby might have been exposed to drugs such as fentanyl in the home.
Bond for both Basley and Liggins is set at $100,000 cash. They have hearings scheduled for next week.
