A Trempealeau County murder suspect has agreed to postpone his next court hearing for a couple of weeks.

Todd Gieck of Melrose appeared in court on Monday on three felony charges, including reckless homicide. Gieck is accused of shooting and killing a driver in Ettrick in May, after becoming upset over that driver’s behavior.

The judge originally assigned to the case recused himself, because victim Kyle Dahl had worked within the Trempealeau County courts.

Investigators say Gieck was parked along a road and allegedly fired at Dahl’s car, after becoming upset that Dahl drove too slowly past the scene.

Gieck’s bond remains at $1.5 million cash. An evidence hearing is planned in Whitehall on August 26th.
