See you next time, at the polls

The key to winning the next presidential election is…Kwik Trip? Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is a big fan of the La Crosse based company. He praised the company when he visited in November, and once posted on Facebook what Kwik Trip snacks Minnesotans liked best. That sparked a slew of responses, including some unusual flavor combinations like coffee and Funyuns for their road trips. Hey, who are we to judge? Walz brought up Kwik Trip again yesterday, when he spoke to delegates at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. He referred to himself as a “Kwik Trip guy” when comparing Wisconsin’s favorite convenience store to one in another battleground state, Pennsylvania.  But it turns out as much as Walz may like Kwik Trip, the company may like his opposition better. Kwik Trip founder Don Zietlow has a long history of donating to Republican causes and candidates. Still, Walz is right. Kwik Trip is pretty awesome, much better than most convenience stores you’ll find on the road. As for politics, that is the last thing on most people’s minds when they stop for a Big Buddy or Glazers, or a Tornado and a pack of smokes. It is really just a big melting pot of customers of all political persuasions. Still that isn’t stopping the candidates from soliciting the Kwik-Trip vote. I guess that is one thing that both sides can agree on. See you next time.
