As I See It

All this political attention is making us blush

Will Wisconsin decide the next presidential election? The candidates are sure acting like it. Both the Trump team and the Harris ticket have made winning Wisconsin a priority. That is evidenced by their campaign schedule. The Republican National Convention was held in Milwaukee, in an effort to woo Wisconsin voters. Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance stumped in De Pere yesterday. And of course former President Donald Trump will hold a town-hall style meeting tonight in La Crosse that will air live on CNN and will be broadcast by WIZM. Kamala Harris has also zeroed in on Wisconsin, selecting neighboring Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. Her first campaign stop in the Midwest was in Eau Claire. She and Walz campaigned together barely a week ago in Milwaukee, and Walz will be back in Wisconsin’s largest city on Labor Day. Clearly, the Harris/Walz ticket believes the road to the White House goes through Wisconsin. Both campaigns are spending heavily in the race in Wisconsin. It is nice that our presidential candidates are focusing so heavily on our state. But it will also be nice when the spotlight dies down a bit. All this attention is making us blush.
