Donald Trump took the stage for a La Crosse town hall at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.

A capacity crowd of over 7,000 began filing into the Center at 2 p.m. for the event that was supposed to start at 6 p.m.

Trump had been in Potterville, Michigan, earlier in the day for a private event — his third time in Michigan in the past seven days.

The last time he was in Wisconsin was for the Republican National Convention in mid-July.

7,000 people??? The venue was cut in half by the stage and it looks 2,00 to me.

Center staff said Wednesday the venue with a smaller stage would hold 7,000 — with many seats added to the main floor. Even more were allowed in as a standing-room-only crowd. It was definitely full and some people didn’t get in. -Rick

Solem’s correct. The seats were full and there were probably close to 1,000 left standing. The perspective of the above photo makes it look like the stage took up half the floor but that was definitely not the case.
