Shooting in north La Crosse leads to attempted murder charge

A weekend shooting in La Crosse has led to the arrest of a 34-year-old suspect, who turned himself in and may appear in court Tuesday.

City police said Ryder Ott of La Crescent turned himself in on Monday. He faces charges of attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police stated an altercation among three people Sunday afternoon led to gunfire, with one person wounded and taken to a local hospital for treatment. The injury was not life-threatening.

The shooting happened in the 2100 block of George Street.
