La Crescent man charged with attempted murder in shooting outside La Crosse bar

A La Crescent man is facing several charges for a gunfire incident earlier this week in north La Crosse.

Ryder Ott is being charged with seven crimes, following the Sunday afternoon shooting outside the Our Corner bar on George Street. Police say another man was shot in the leg after confronting Ott in the tavern parking lot, and getting into a fight with him and a third man. The 34-year-old Ott turned himself in to city police the next day.

Ott is accused of endangering safety, theft of a weapon, and possessing fentanyl with intent to deliver. His bond has been set at $250,000 cash.

The victim reportedly had gone over to Ott’s truck, and a fight began. Ott allegedly was knocked to the ground, then got up and fired a gun at the victim. He is due back in court on September 19th.
