It took seven clues to find the Oktoberfest medallion this year, but an area couple discovered the 2024 medal on Sunday.

Fest officials say Willie Bittner and Kerry Pishke located the medallion Sunday morning, in the Eagle Watch area along Rose Street. Bittner and Pishke are scheduled to officially claim their prize, and explain how they found the medal, on Monday at the southside festgrounds.

Oktoberfest medallions, such as this one from 2018, are hidden on public property, and could be camouflaged

The list of Oktoberfest clues for this year began last Monday, on September 16th. Later clues made references to leaders of the local lumber industry, and recreational areas.

Last year, the medallion was found after only four clues, at the Forest Hills golf course. The 2024 Oktoberfest officially begins this Thursday, with the Torchlight Parade happening that night.
