New evidence reportedly discovered in La Crosse woman’s murder from nearly 40 years ago
One of the La Crosse area’s most famous unsolved murder cases may have been solved. A news conference is scheduled Tuesday in Vernon County, where local law enforcement officers will have new information about the 1985 death of UW-La Crosse student Terry Dolowy.
In February of 1985, Dolowy went missing from her mobile home in Barre Mills. Within a few days, her body was found burning in a ditch. She had been beheaded.
No one has ever been charged in the death, but in the last year, a man at a health center in Madison claimed he had murdered Dolowy.
