UW-La Crosse has set a record, with the size of this year’s freshman class.

The campus says 2325 students enrolled for their first year this fall, as of the 10th day of classes, which helped lead to an overall increase in enrollment. Other numbers for the new semester were not immediately available to WIZM.

Last year’s fall number was just over 10,300. The record for enrollment at UWL was set in 2019, just before the pandemic. That was 10,580 students, according to campus records.

The UW System also commissioned an outside study of finances on 12 of its four-year campuses, and found La Crosse in a good position for growth with stable enrollment.
