In Prairie du Chien campaign speech, Trump warns of “stone cold killers” in U.S., who were set from Mexico

Illegal immigration and the problems caused by those who have crossed the border into the U.S. were Donald Trump’s main focus during a campaign visit Saturday at the Prairie du Chien High School.

During an hour-long speech in the arts center, the former president blamed Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris for letting dangerous criminals by the thousands enter the country over the past four years.

Trump warned an audience of about 700 that convicted murderers from Mexico have been set free to come to the U.S., where they could “cut your throat.”

He referred to many of the people who have entered the country as “stone cold killers.”

Trump made reference to a suspected Venezuelan gang member jailed this month in Crawford County for alleged sexual assault and domestic battery.

Besides crime, Trump also argued that illegals are taking jobs away from U.S. residents, including work that could go to black and Hispanic Americans.

Trump accused Harris of “erasing our border,” and says she should “never be allowed” to become president.

The Republican nominee also blamed Harris for the spread of fentanyl around the country.

Among the guests who appeared onstage with Trump were 3rd District Republican US House Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-Prairie du Chien), Wisconsin state Assemby Rep. Travis Tranel (R-Cuba City), Crawford County Sheriff Dale McCullick and PdC Police Chief Kyle Teynor.

Several U.S. presidents have made stops in Prairie du Chien since the 1950s. George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter both visited the city while in the Oval Office, while Bill Clinton and John F. Kennedy appeared in Prairie shortly before they were elected.
